Preserving History
What does 1968 mean to you? Post a story on the Minnesota Historical Society website and become part of the historical record of this pivotal year. Whether it’s your own story or one you’ve been told, they are collecting people’s observations for a searchable database. Some may even be featured in a major traveling exhibition. Save Energy
Fifty easy-to-use Power Check energy meters are available to borrow at Hennepin County libraries. The meters will identify high energy use appliances; determine how much it costs to use appliances; predict savings from reducing use; calculate the cost-savings of replacing equipment with newer energy-efficient models; and identify “energy vampires” – appliances that use energy when switched off. Feeling Low?
Low serum testosterone may contribute to a number of problems affecting older men, including decreased ability to walk, loss of muscle mass and strength, decreased vitality and sexual function, impaired cognition, cardiovascular disease and anemia. A new clinical trial by the National Institute on Aging will test whether these conditions can be favorably affected by testosterone therapy.
